We are thrilled to let you know that our recent Tarts for Troops fundraising campaign has been shortlisted in the Some Comms Awards 2012. We have been nominated for the best use of Social Media in the charity and non-profit category.
The Tarts for Troops fundraiser that took place in June earlier this year was a huge success. We asked you to hold your own Tarts for Troops party and bake some delicious tarts to help support blind ex-Service men and women.
We were blown away by your support and enthusiasm, with some of you celebrating in style at the very first tea party which was held on top of Mount Snowdon. We also had a whole host of fantastic Tart of the Day entries too, including; savoury red pesto tarts from Stephen Fry, apple tart ‘Maman Blanc’ from Raymond Blanc and a tasty treacle tart from Bex Williamsom from the Military Wives choir.
We’d like to thank you all for your hard work and help during the Tarts for Troops event; we couldn’t have done it without you! The Some Comms awards takes place on the 18th October, so we will let you know then if there’s more success then.
Unfortunately Tarts for Troops registration has closed for 2012 but you can still support the campaign by purchasing one of our virtual tarts online or practice for Tarts for Troops 2013 by following the Tart of the Day recipes online.
